What Are Common Sports Injuries?
Sports injuries divide roughly into two groups. Acute injuries happen suddenly: a rolled ankle, a pulled hamstring, a strained shoulder during a throw. Overuse injuries build gradually as repeated training outpaces recovery: tendon pain, stress reactions, shin splints-type discomfort. Both groups benefit from an evaluation that looks at the injury in the context of your sport and training.
What Injuries Does the Clinic Commonly Address?
- Ankle and knee sprains
- Muscle strains of the hamstring, groin, calf and hip
- Shoulder and rotator cuff problems
- Tendon overuse conditions (Achilles, patellar, elbow, wrist)
- Back and neck complaints from lifting, impact and training
- Reduced mobility and muscle imbalance after injury
How Does Recovery Work?
Recovery at the clinic follows a progression: reduce pain and protect the injured tissue, restore mobility, rebuild strength and control, retrain movement patterns, then progress back to sport. Rather than guessing, you will know which stage you are in and what comes next. This structured approach is designed to cut through the trial-and-error that many injured athletes experience on their own.
What Role Do Advanced Therapies Play?
For stubborn soft tissue problems, the clinic can integrate shockwave therapy or cold laser therapy. These are used as part of a plan, not in isolation, and only where the evaluation supports them. Rehabilitative exercise is the foundation that holds the progress together.
When Should You Seek Care After a Sports Injury?
For mild injuries, a few days of relative rest and self-care is reasonable. Seek care sooner when pain is significant, swelling is marked, you cannot bear weight or move the joint normally, or discomfort has not improved within about a week. Suspected fractures, dislocations and injuries with numbness or weakness require urgent medical attention first.
What Should You Expect on Your First Visit?
Expect a focused conversation about your sport, your training and the injury, followed by movement testing. You will leave knowing what is likely going on, what the plan is and what you can do between visits. If chiropractic care is not the right starting point for your injury, the team will tell you and point you to the right provider.
